The Flexicurity project is initiated and coordinated by the LENTIC, research-action centre of the HEC-Management School of the University of Liege.
This project follows on from other research-action projects conducted by the LENTIC, certain of which were also funded under Article 6 of the FSE (OSER, DECODER, RE-LIER, ODISSER).
These different projects related to the analysis of new forms of employment and new forms of company organisation (with a focus on “company networks”), as well as on the issues which cause these new forms to emerge in terms of human resources management and social dialogue.
The OSER and RE-LIER projects gave rise to the production of theoretical material, but also and above all, to the design of educational material aimed at raising awareness among the stakeholders in relation to the issues highlighted.
These tools, useable in the context of traditional training, are available to all interested persons.
Digital and e-learning versions of these tools are currently being developed as part of the ODISSER project and should be available during the second half of 2007.
The key issue highlighted within these different projects is the inability of the current forms of labour market regulation (employment and trade union law, social dialogue, etc.) to securitise the diversity of working situations observed on the ground. This is the reason why the LENTIC and its partners are now taking an interest in an emerging and innovative form of labour market regulation: flexicurity.
